Lukas Roeper is one of Austria’s leading experts in providing 360° legal and business consultancy and transaction services to international and domestic clients. He has more than 20 years of experience in international banks, law firms, big4 advisory firms and corporations.

Lukas worked for US law firm Skadden for more than 5 years in Vienna, Frankfurt and London. The current team was initially set up at PwC, where Lukas was a partner, head of the Financial Legal Services division and member of the markets council. Previous positions include those of General Counsel, Regulatory SPOC, Corporate Secretary and Head of Participations at international banks; he has also held various supervisory board positions. He is a certified compliance and data protection officer, author of numerous specialist publications on the subject of financial law and a lecturer at Vienna University for banking M&A
Lukas also heads the Private Wealth and CIS Desks. He provides advice and support to clients in connection with their entry into the Austrian market, with asset relocation, corporate & personnel migration and with setting up family office structures including accounts, infrastructure and corporate structures.
He is a licensed business consultant and, in addition to legal services, also provides corporate and financial advisory services. These include financial due diligence services, market soundings, process implementation and transaction management.
Lukas advises clients in all areas of sanctions and embargo laws. He focuses particularly on advising banks and banking clients in relation to frozen assets, where his background in banking is of great value to his clients. He regularly represents clients before the regulatory authorities. Lukas is also an expert regarding the peculiarities of oil and gas sanctions and of general import and export restrictions.
He speaks German, English and basic Russian.
